letter to local radio station
the other day while driving in the morning i heard on the radio that it's against the law to go barefoot in establishments like a grocery store. they were actually talking about how the government tries to regulate smoking in public places, and somehow the subject of going barefoot was also mention in passing and was sort of made fun of. so as soon as i got home i wrote an email to the host of the show as follows:
Hi xxx,
I love your show and listen to you every day. That's why I would like to set the record straight on what someone said on your show earlier today that you seemed to agree with.
As I was getting off my car I heard someone say (I don't know who he was) that it's against the law to go barefoot in grocery stores.
Well, that's just not true! There is no government law/regulation/code in Texas or any other state we know (see reference below) that says you can't go barefoot in grocery stores or other public places.
Of course, any establishment can set *their own* dress code but they must state it as such, and not lie and try to hide behind phantom laws. Yes, it's a shame many of them do that, and I just don't want a respectable program like yours to help propagate the myth.
So, I hope you will set the record straight.
Thank you,
Jonathan

WARNING: this post is intended for mature readers. if you're under 18 please find another post to read . by sharleen wl clean feet or dirty feet? what about stinky feet? <giggles> i feel kinda naughty asking these questions. i've met plenty of guys online and in real life who are into feet, and they particularly like girl's dirty feet. ya, this is mostly a guy thing although there are a few girls who also like feet. i'm not one of them although i admit feet can be attractive just like any other part of your body like your eyes, nose, lips, and even hands. but to me attractive feet are clean ones. i used to prefer having clean feet, especially during my early barefooting days when i was still living with my parents. part of it was due to the influence of my mom who is a clean freak and told me to wash my feet every time prior to entering the house, but also like i said earlier clean feet are more attractive (to me at least). today i no longer care as much. i le...
A barefoot girl story about working barefoot and a spooky walk home by sharleen wl Tania graduated at the end of my freshman year in college (she's 3 years older than me), and immediately got a job downtown. Unfortunately she can't work barefoot which cuts down on her barefooting time. But she takes off her shoes in the office whenever she can and sometimes even walk around barefoot like to the break room. Its ok as long as her manager doesn't know :) She still lives the barefoot lifestyle outside of work. We agreed for her to take the car since she needed it more. My parents didn't want to buy me another car though, cuz I wasn't doing very well in college. They said I had become a wild child, and letting me have a car would only make things worse. So what were my options? I could take the bus to school but that would take alot longer and I would have to wake up earlier every morning. Or I could live in an apartment close to campus so I could just walk. The...
A barefoot girl story by Sharleen WL I just started college a few months ago and so far I'm loving it. There is so much more freedom than in high school and not the least is the ability to go to school barefoot. This article is an account of a typical Monday. Unlike many people, I love Mondays coz to me its the start of a brand new week full of opportunities, a new chapter in my book of life ready to be filled with exciting experiences and adventures. Its 7am and I wake up feeling refreshed after a good night's sleep. Actually I'm having a bad cold, so my nose is pretty stuffy but I feel rested nontheless and excited about the day ahead. After washing up and everything, I walk over to the game room to join the family for our morning meditation. Its dad's idea to meditate together every morning and everyone loves it. The only religious person in our family in mom who is Catholic. Dad is kinda new-agey, and all my siblings and I are atheists. But we all feel the ...
a barefoot girl's story going shopping with her strict religious mom by sharleen wl hi everyone, how's it going? this is a rather long post but a pretty fun story. so i want you to get comfortable. get your favorite drink, maybe play some soft music, be barefooted (if you aren't already), take off all your clo... oops, i'm getting carried away. i mean, you don't have to do that. unless your like me of course, lol. anyway, relax and enjoy! my dad is away on a business trip and my mom is home alone. so yesterday she called me and asked if i would wanna go shopping at the mall with her today (saturday). i love shopping so i said sure. she knows that i'm a barefooter and has kinda accepted the fact, so going barefoot to the mall with her shouldn't be an issue. i wake up a little earlier this morning cuz i wanna eat breakfast before going shopping. need the extra energy. the temperature this morning is 61 F which is cold for hawaii. i slept with my windows clos...
by sharleen wl that's a question i occasionally get asked by friends or relatives who always see me barefoot. as some of you know i work as a cashier in a restaurant where i can't be barefoot but can wear flip flops (or rubber slippers as we call them here in hawaii). even a few of my coworkers have asked me if i ever wear shoes. so flip flops don't count as shoes. well the answer to the million dollar question (lol) is yes, but very rarely. as i mentioned in a previous post i only own 3 pairs of footwear. the first is a pair of high heels which i only wear to formal occasions like weddings and funerals or when i get invited to a high-end restaurant. one time at a wedding a cousin of mine was like, "wow, fancy seeing you wearing shoes. with heels too hahaha!" i hated wearing them as my feet were painful and sweaty (and probably stinky too lol). when i was seated at the table i took them off to give my poor feet a break. i also have a pair of slip-on sneakers (wit...
by Tania WL I'm a college student, and I go barefoot to school on most days. The only days I wear flip flops are when I have yoga class (which is on Tuesdays and Fridays) as we have to have clean feet. Yeah, my feet get pretty dirty by the end of the day from walking around campus. I love our college library as it's a great place to study and to rest. They have benches with soft cushions where you can lie down and relax or even sleep. I often take a power nap in between classes in the afternoon which is great cos when I wake up I feel really refreshed, especially when I've been burning the midnight oil. One day I was doing just that. I was lying down on one of the benches taking a nap with my dirty bare feet hanging over the edge for everyone who passed by to see. Some would be turned on, some would be disgusted, so what! lol. I woke up after about 20 minutes and sat up. There was a guy sitting at the table across the aisle looking at me. He quickly looked away as I l...

Hey dude, very cool. I've gone barefoot quite a few places, but not as many as you... it's cold up north, and I have to work to get up the confidence all over again every summer. It's about freedom - not following stupid rules. Shoes suck.
