Fun barefoot day around town

Image
barefoot staycation day 2 by sharleen wl it's monday morning, the second day of my barefoot staycation. rays of sunlight filters through my bedroom window and the birds are chirping outside. i stretch my arms and legs, feeling the cool breeze that comes in from the open window. ya, like many dwelling places in hawaii my apartment isn't air-conditioned. we don't need it that much cuz the trade wind blows almost constantly. occasionally it stops blowing and the air becomes sticky but that's only like a couple of weeks in a year. i look at my dirty soles and giggle as they're a sign of living a fun and free barefoot lifestyle. yesterday was quite enjoyable and today more exciting adventures await. but...there's something i need to do before i even start the day. last night i was too tired and this morning i feel a strong urge to do it. noo, i'm not talking about washing the dishes 🤣. hint - not wearing anything in bed really makes it easy 😉 ok no...

Barefoot Sisters

I am the 3rd child in our family of 5 children. It's interesting that the ones who have any interest in barefooting at all are the girls (although I was the only avid barefooter in the beginning, and the most rebellious). I would go barefoot just about every chance I had, to my mom's dismay. barefoot sisters My big sister Debbie would go barefoot in public every once in a while when she was "in the mood" for it. We were going to shop at the mall, and Debbie was in the mood to go barefoot. Both our younger siblings (Lynn, 9 and Kevin, 8...

Barefoot in Restaurants

It kinda defies one of the most popular social norms that when you enter a restaurant you have to look 'decent', and i love breaking norms and taboos :) but since i'm kinda shy, it took a while and some guts for me to break norms and this one is no exception. Once i did it though, it got easier the next time around. The first i went to barefoot was a fast food Asian restaurant (which you can find plenty in Hawaii). Fast food places are cool 'cos you don't have to be served and most of them are really laid back. Still, i decided to do it one small (bare) step at a time. The very first time i just ordered to go so that i wouldn't need to sit in there feeling vulnerable. So i placed my order at the counter and waited till they bring it out, and then i walked out. Hey, i can still claim that i went barefoot in a restaurant can't i? :) The next time i went back to the sa...
