If you have read the story titled "Barefoot Sisters" you would know that in the beginning mom was so opposed to her kids going barefoot in public places, but she later gave in and allowed Tania and me to do so. The following took place in my early days of barefooting in public when I was in elementary school. I was the only barefooter in the grocery store that night It was 9:30pm on a Wednesday when dad was away on business. My oldest brother and sisters were still busy doing homework and studying, and my little brother was already in bed. I just got done with all my homework. I had karate class earlier in the evening, and so I took a shower when I got home. Barefoot Girl, Favorite Sibling

by Tania WL (as recounted by my sister Lynn) While I have been living the barefoot lifestyle pretty much since I was a kid, my little sister Sharleen (aka Lynn for short) was a little different. Although she never liked wearing anything on her feet as a kid, her barefooting was limited to inside and around the house. On occasion she would venture out barefoot in the streets of our neighborhood, but not in stores or other establishments. She was a late bloomer. Our little brother Kevin has never been a barefooter. He would go barefoot inside the house as it's the norm here on the islands, but once he stepped outside, even like to the backyard, he would wear Crocs (those shoes with holes on them), his favorite footwear. When we were kids he loved to play and hang out with Lynn coz he said she was the nicest of all his siblings. He didn't like me very much, even kinda afraid of me as I used to be mean to him.
